We offer three types of
evaluations: psychological, educational / achievement,
and behavioral. Tests are chosen based on the referral
question or the presenting concern of the individual.
We will be happy to speak with
you regarding your situation and suggest the most
appropriate type of evaluation for your needs.
The assessment process
begins with a meeting with the psychologist to review
the history of the problem and to review the testing
process. After the initial consultation, the diagnostic
evaluations will be scheduled. Comprehensive
evaluations usually require 1 to 2 sessions of several
hours depending upon the referral concerns. For younger
children, we will make every effort to schedule these
appointments in the mornings.
At the conclusion of
testing, a thorough report is written. The report is
tailored to the specific individual and includes an
evaluation of strengths and weaknesses along with
specific recommendations and any potential
accommodations. All aspects of functioning are
considered, which often leads to educational and
behavioral recommendations in a variety of environments,
including home or school.
After the report is
complete, the psychologist will meet with the individual
or family to review and explain the findings. If
applicable, we are available
to attend school-related conferences such as IEP or
Student Support Team meetings.
